Looking for a treatment to your Asian flush problem?

If you’re reading this article, you probably have a good idea of what Asian flush is all about. The biggest question that most Asian flush sufferers ask is “how can I stop these embarrassing red face moments?”

For the most part, the red flushing on the face of the sufferer is by far the biggest reason why this disorder is so popular. Sufferers seem to get the idea that this is only a cosmetic issue and that the problem is only skin deep. Unfortunately, it not just skin deep, it’s more serious than that. Other symptoms include blotching of the skin on the face, shoulders and neck, swelling, nausea, rapid heartbeat, and a few others. Read the rest of this entry »

Some people who are allergic to fish are able to consume shellfish; while conversely, some people who cannot eat shellfish can have fish. Fish allergy manifests itself when individuals have a negative medical reaction to certain proteins in fish. Many people are allergic to the types of fish that are generally consumed by others; such as cod, Pollock, salmon, tuna and snapper. Allergy testing can be used to check if a person is allergic to fish.

A fish allergy more often than not starts in maturity and it may be something that lasts a lifetime. Due to the fact that the proteins that cause allergic reactions in people tend to be found in such a wide cross-section of fishes, people who are allergic are often times told to stay away from fish altogether. However, if an individual wants to continue eating the fishes they do not have an allergic reaction to, then allergy testing could be used to make the differentiation for them. Living with a corn allergy isn’t fun and games, that’s for sure. There are the undeniable symptoms that set in shortly after eating anything with corn in it. I start to feel my ankle swelling first usually. A little tingle, then it’s off to the races. My nose gets stuffy, and then I start to feel really tired. My breathing appears to slow down and I am down for the count. Others may have different symptoms such as shiners, bad breath, eczema, problems losing weight, stomach aches, constipation or more. Most people do not end up in the emergency room like a severe peanut allergy.

Having a mild to moderate corn allergy is much more insidious, in my opinion, than having a painfully obvious severe allergy. An undetected allergy whittles away at one’s quality of life. It’s just unbearable; always feeling tired, always struggling with overeating, sinus infections, moodiness or just basically feeling and looking rotten. In many ways, I think it’s worse because it is most likely the most undiagnosed allergy in the United States. Why? Because i Read the rest of this entry »

There are people who have wheat intolerance due to the allergic reaction that occurs when wheat is introduced in the diet. As the name implies, this condition primarily affects people of Asian descent. Approximately 50% of the Asian population have this condition. Over the past 8 years I have encountered what I would consider a disproportionate number of patients with a “sensitivity” to wheat. I use the term “sensitivity” as opposed to “allergy” because, for these individuals, wheat is not causing an allergic reaction, it is simply disturbing the body’s normal functioning. This “sensitivity” drains precious energies from the body’s storehouse. This “sensitivity” distract the body from its normal recuperative abilities. In numerous patients, they are completely unaware of the existence of a problem since any physical symptoms or signs may be absent.

So just what types of problems can wheat cause in certain “wheat-sensitive” patients? First on the list would be any type of GI problem ranging from inconsistent bowel habits to mild to severe abdominal pain. Other problems include general body weakness, fatigue, lethargy, inflammation, chronic aches and pains, excessive weight, immunity problems, etc. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Clean A Mattress – The purpose of this article is to bring to your attention how unhealthy an average mattress or sofa can actually be and what you can do about it. It doesn’t matter how old the mattress or stuffed furniture is, it can be sanitized.

Most people don’t realize that what they are sleeping on each night could be the cause of allergy symptoms. Experiencing symptoms such as red itchy eyes, sneezing coughing, headaches, depression, or allergy attacks upon awakening have been shown to be caused by dust mites in some people.

It is important to realize that a mattress can harbor viruses, bacteria, fungus, mold spores, and dust mites. Dust mites themselves are not dangerous. It is what they excrete that causes the problems. This excretion is called guanine. Guanine adheres to the fibers in the mattress as tiny mucous coated balls. Later these balls decompose into fine powder like dust. This dust collects in the mattress and causes allergic people to react to the proteins in the bodies and feces of the mites.
